It was a beautiful day in Napa last Saturday. I attended the 25th Year Anniversary release of the 2010 Flora Springs Trilogy. Upon my arrival they handed me a wonderful glass of Chardonnay. I walked through their beautiful caves which opened up to a breathtaking view of the vineyard. What a fabulous event! There were food stations set up where you could taste from Farmstead, Grapevine Catering, ZuZu, Morimoto’s Restaurant, and TraVigne.
I saw one of the largest paella’s I have ever seen. 🙂 The live band was fabulous and of course the 2010 Trilogy was outstanding.
One of my favorite stations was the making of homemade mozzarella…
Thank you Flora Springs for a wonderful event – can’t wait for the next one…

It’s that time of year when I start getting nervous yet excited about harvest. It’s on my mind day in and day out. When will the grapes be ready…is this an early harvest? Do I have all my equipment ready? Do I have all the chemicals I need? These are some of the thoughts running through my mind right before harvest. It’s like the quiet before the storm.
Excitement is in the air. All across the wine industry, wine makers, vineyard managers, cellar workers, and wine industry vendors are on standby. We are all hoping for a great harvest. We are all hoping for the best one yet…LOL
Whatever Mother Nature decides, we will make the best wine with what we have been given. I can’t wait to hear the sound of that first truck bring in the first fruit.
Stay tuned for what’s in store for Passaggio Wines – it won’t be long before we have the “Blessing of the Grapes”
This is what I call “quiet.” Walking the vineyard during the quiet part of the day, void of voices and winery sounds, makes for a moment of perfect peace. Hearing nothing but the crunch of my own footsteps, walking between the rows of nature at its best, I feel quiet and rest seep into my soul. It is my time to de-stress and reflect on what’s really important in my life.
Where do you like to spend your moment of quiet time? Find your special place. Take that quiet moment each day…it will rejuvenate, encourage, and inspire you.
Follow Your Passion,
I love this time of year. The air is fresh, the flowers are in bloom, and it’s quiet. The mornings are filled with the smell of coffee, birds chirping, and the sun coming through the kitchen window…makes for a wonderful start to my day.
The vineyards are quiet…the vines are budding with flowers and the vineyard managers are pruning back the unwanted lateral shoots, and new shoots are being directed and positioned. I love watching this process. The vineyard workers take such care in handling the vines. While I am watching all I hear is the rustling of the vines and the workers movement through the rows of green.
This quiet place offers peace and tranquillity…great ingredients for a short afternoon walk. Sometimes you just need that place where your thoughts cannot be disturbed and all you hear is the silence. As I travel back from my walk through the vineyards I cannot help but think how much the vines must love this quietness.

It was a few days ago when I came across a new friend on twitter…@YvonneArnoldCRS. Somehow we started talking about the weather and how it was going to start raining. Yvonne sent out a photo of herself doing a sun dance to help stop the rain…funny huh?
I found myself laughing and thinking about all the great friends I have made on Twitter and Facebook. My thoughts went straight to my mom calling my twitter friends “my imaginary friends” – 🙂 She’s a funny lady…
Anyway…I decided to return the favor to Yvonne because it was starting to rain in her neck of the woods too…boy the things we will do for our friends…you should have seen me trying to explain to my friend Stu why I needed him to take this picture of me dancing in the vineyards…
So – to all my friends out there and to Yvonne….keep dancing – follow your passion…
